With the animals taking over South Philly’s streets last week, red-nosed circus hopefuls like Northeast Philadelphia’s Connie Hagan joined others from as far south as Virginia at the Wachovia Spectrum, 3601 S. Broad St., for Clown College, where displaying an overactive funny bone was a prerequisite for joining the Greatest Show on Earth. Come Monday, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey will Zing Zang Zoom for good from the famed arena.
