Phyllis Stein-Novack is reviewing Little Fish this week, the small seafood BYOB in Bella Vista. While it may seem like just another review from our food critic who has been part of the South Philly Review family for more than two decades, it isn’t. This marks the final chapter of a long relationship in which she has taken readers on a culinary journey from the Jersey Shore to the Main Line. Yes, there were plenty of South Philly stops along the way, from Point Breeze down to Queen Village — the avenue included.
Over the years, readers got to know Edward, Sandy and Cousin Carl and others who would all occasionally join Phyllis on her restaurant visits. At times, it seemed like we were on a first-name basis with the family.
Whether you enjoyed her reviews or disagreed with tips of the toque, Phyllis Stein-Novack has been a voice that captured our attention on a weekly basis. As an editor who has been with SPR for close to two decades, I just want to say four tips of the toque for a job well-done, Phyllis!
