At 7 .m. Jan. 17, the complainant met with a craigslist advertiser to purchase an Apple iPhone 7 Plus at 10th Street and Snyder Avenue. Having given the individual $600, the would-be buyer inspected the device and noticed it was fake, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man chased the offender, who, at 10th and Mercy streets, kicked him in the leg.
The thief pulled out a black gun and pointed it at him. The gun wielder then ran westbound along Mercy Street.
The complainant described him as Hispanic and 20 to 25 years old; having black hair, a black beard, brown eyes, and a light brown complexion; wearing a gray hoodie, a black vest, gray sweatpants, and a black winter hat.
