Rydell debuting at the Kimmel

Believe it or not, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts opened in 2001 on South Broad Street, and in those 12-plus years since, one South Philly icon has never graced its stage. Well, that will change 8 p.m. Saturday as the artist born Robert Ridarelli, and better known as Bobby Rydell, 71, is one of the big names on Jerry “The Geator” Blavat’s “Great Voices of the ‘60s” program. Eddie Holman, Jay Black and Gary U.S. Bonds are a few of the other talents that will be performing.
