Philly Cooks 2013 The Big Event features food samples from 40 restaurants, cocktails and handmade goods 6:30 to 9 tonight at the Historic Strawbridge Building, 801 Market St. 

Participating eateries include Hawthorne’s Café, 738 S. 11th St.; Le Viet, 1019 S. 11th St.; Stateside, 1536 E. Passyunk Ave.; Tashan, 777 S. Broad St.; and The Mildred, 824 S. Eighth St., among others.
