Many great family memories are made in the kitchen right alongside the delicious dishes.
Rachel Garber, of the 2400 block of South Sixth Street, enjoyed her mother's Bread and Butter Pudding so much she made a copy of the cherished recipe from its cookbook in case the source was ever misplaced. Years later, this toasty dish, packed with raisins and laced with vanilla, remains a hit with its "yummy, out-of-the oven" flavors.
Rachel's Bread and Butter Pudding
6 thick slices of challah, torn into large pieces
4 eggs, beaten
1 quart of hot milk
1/2 cup of sugar
