Surprise! The word is typically used to startle an individual or couple celebrating a milestone. Donna Collins, of the 100 block of Snyder Avenue, is using the term to fittingly describe the fresh-out-of-the-oven flavors oozing out of her Tex-Mex Surprise.
Instead of simply opening a bag of Doritos, Donna uses the popular snack item as the foundation for her recipe. The dish, which only requires five minutes of cooking time, is perfect for getting any party started.
1 large bag of Doritos
1 can of bean dip
1 16-ounce jar of salsa
1 package of Kraft Longhorn cheese
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Put a layer of Doritos on a cookie sheet. Place a teaspoon of the bean dip on each chip followed by a 1/2 teaspoon of the salsa and a 1/4-by-1/4 piece of the cheese. Bake for about five minutes, until the cheese melts.
