2011 Philly Spring Cleanup

2100 block of South 21st Street: Residents will clean their block.

2600 block of Latona Street: Residents will spruce up their block.

Anderson Recreation Center: Volunteers will sweep, rake, paint, clean and pick up litter inside and outside of the rec center, 17th and Fitzwater streets.

The Church of the Redeemer Baptist: The church, 1440 S. 24th St., will pick up trash within the area of 24th to 25th streets and Wharton to Dickinson streets.

Companion Pet Hospital: Volunteers will clean up litter near its 1524 S. Fifth St. location.

Delaware River Trail: Volunteers will meet at WalMart, 1675 S. Columbus Boulevard, to pick up litter along the trail and make the area more appealing to run and bike.

Dickinson Square Park: Volunteers will meet on the 1600 block of East Moyamensing Avenue and will sweep, rake and clean the sidewalks surrounding the park.

East Passyunk Crossing: Volunteers will meet at the civic’s office, 1729 S. 11th St., and clean streets, gardens and other public spaces within its boundaries — Broad to Eighth streets and Tasker Street to Snyder Avenue.

Greenlimbs.com: Volunteers will meet at 510 Washington Ave. to pick up litter and tend to newly planted trees along Washington Avenue from Third to Sixth streets.

Lower Moyamensing Civic Association: Volunteers will meet at Southern High School, 2101 S. Broad St., to clean the neighborhood — Snyder to Oregon avenues and Broad to Eighth streets, tend to trees and an orchard at Southern, and distribute recycling bins and tree applications.

Newbold Neighbors Association: Covering Broad to 18th streets and Washington to Passyunk avenues, the civic’s volunteers will hand out recycling bins at Ultimo Coffee, 1900 S. 15th St., in addition to informational packets on recycling.

Palumbo Recreation Center: Volunteers will meet at the rec center, 10th and Bainbridge streets, to remove trash and litter from Bella Vista, which spans Sixth to 11th streets and South Street to Washington Avenue.

RENEW Community Development Corp.: Volunteers will pick up litter near its 2500-Wharton-St. site.

South of South Neighborhood Association: Volunteers will pick up trash, clear storm drains and remove graffiti from Christian Street within its boundaries that run Broad to I-76 and South Street to Washington Avenue.

West Passyunk Neighbors Association: Covering Mifflin Street to West Passyunk Avenue and 18th to 25th streets, the civic’s volunteers will meet at 19th Street and Snyder Avenue for a Snyder Avenue cleanup. SPR
