Staff photographer Greg Bezanis took a drive around the neighborhood Tuesday afternoon to capture images of Hurricane Sandy’s aftermath. Many workers spent the day repairing broken traffic lights and signs while others had to deal with the tree limbs that went timber, including some that dealt crushing blows to parked cars.

Local youngsters canvassed their neighborhoods last night, with many likely visiting this home on the 200 block of Christian Street, which let Hurricane Sandy know that her destructive ways would merit no goodies. Though South Philly remained largely unscathed, the tropical cyclone battered other areas over an eight-day period before dissipating Tuesday.
