A duo riddled a man with bullets as he returned home from getting Chinese food early Monday.
As the 30-year-old walked home from New Canton Chinese Restaurant, 2100 Reed St., two unknown men walked up to him, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Both pulled out firearms and shot him a total of five times at 12:40 a.m. on the 2200 block of Wharton Street. The victim ran away and called 911.
Officers transported him to the HUP while detectives recovered ballistics evidence at the scene, Tolliver said. The motive was unknown at press time.
One of the gunmen was described as black with a light complexion, in his early 20s, 5-foot-7, thin and wearing a gray hoody with white lettering on it. The second offender was described as black, 5-foot-7, thin and wearing a black jacket with a hoody underneath.

“Yea this is the reason why we shouldn't have new buildings built in this area. WE WANT A DRUG STORE! WE WANT OUR FEET RUBBED by a FOOT DOCTOR.
SAVE POINT BREEZE - SAY NO TO ROOF DECKS and YUPPIES!
They reason why our kids are running around all wild is because Ori ain't give them JOBS as Laburrrs. YUP! I've seen it!”

“They can't even pick up the trash in front of their homes, even though they are sitting on their stoop for hours at a time. They will kick the trash into the street instead and throw menus from their doors to the ground. I've literally seen all of this many times and it's done by all ages, children, teens, adults and seniors. Point Sleeze is changing and it's going to be cleaner, quieter, safer and more diverse.”

“Hey Anonymous
What does being gay have to do with criminal behavior?
Im assuming you are probably too dumb to understanding this, but let me try to explain it to you anyway. Being gay has zero correlation with criminal behavior - or wait, thats too many big words there champ. How about this for an explanation - being gay has NOTHING to do with being a thug or being a criminal. There. Comprende?
Maybe mommy or daddy should have bothered to teach you something while you were growing up. Or were they bigots too? What am I saying, of course they were bigots. Bigot begets bigot. Doesnt matter if its black, white, asian, straight, gay or slightly bent out of shape.”

“I am really confused by "Point Breeze Native's" comment. I can't tell if the poster is being sarcastic, or not. If kids are running around wild, then it certainly is NOT because someone hasn't given them a job. If a kid is running around wild it's because their parent is not parenting them, and if they are running around wild now because they haven't been given a job, then perhaps they have not earned a job. Furthermore, if a kid is running around wild now, then they were running around wild long before development began in Point Breeze, and that has nothing to do with development and everything to do with the residents. Not having new buildings in the area will not reduce crime, in fact research studies have shown that gentrification results in lower homicide rates, the research is much more complex but leaving a neighborhood in poverty hurts crime rates, residents, and truly the area would be forgotten. Don't fear change, grow with it, sink, or swim!”

“Our marxist agenda is almost complete...our sickening goal was to tame the negro, rid the sick and elderly out of there homes, inflate worthless buldings to raise the property tax and get rid of the dego.s , mics, and blacks. We took neighborhoods over, then cities ans now the states! Hitler Mao Stalin Lennon Castro and out beloved leader Jung Il, will be proud (we even elected a an american hating president!!!) we hipsters are vey proud in being part of destroying america!”

“I have to agree, It is sickening seeing so many hipsters around. It's true and sad, they are doing a good job of getting rid of all the old school Italian and Irish areas.”

“Have a Real Neighborhood Meeting with our Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, requesting the installment of (28) "Shot-Spotter Cameras". The first (14) should be installed on each Major Street Corner facing west from Broad & Washington Ave.to Broad & Snyder Ave. The Second (14) lnstallments on each numbered Street , starting @ S.15th to S.28th Sts. Corners facing in the Southern direction.”

“Really camera's at night mean nothing. They all wear hoodies and they are all dark on video. They look down wearing a hoodie, you might as well lock them all up. Camera's won't solve the bigger problem of the diversity in "Point Shoot you in the face while your mother is watching Breeze".
ROOF DECKS cause cancer!”

“Wow, well I don't know how the conversation went from a man being shot at his door step, to hipsters, to being gay, to maxism? Congratulations all, for being complete morons.
And Point Breeze Native, you sound an awful lot like Tiffany Green and company. Wow, don't know where to start. You don't want new buildings but you want a pharmacy? Is there a pharmacy that exists in floating mid air without occupying a building? I'd like to see that. Let me ask you something else, this incident occured at 12:40am, so wouldn't the work day be over at that time? And what does Ori have to do with people's inability to get them a job? Is there something wrong with people that they can't get a job on their own instead of using someone as a scape goat for their own plight? Over the summer when the flash mobs were really bad, what did Mayor Nutter say? He said the PARENTS need to take responsibility for their children running around. Take responsibility for your own actions and don't blame others.”
