Sunday’s Columbus Day Parade and Italian Festival made South Broad Street a mini Italy. City Council President Anna Verna, upper right, whose late husband Severino co-founded the parade in 1957, joined with proud residents to laud Christopher Columbus’ 1492 journey to the New World.
