Settlement Music School’s Mary Louise Curtis Branch, 416 Queen St. welcomed more than 30 string instruments Nov. 1. The additions came as donations from The Jack Kent Cooke and Classics for Kids foundations and will benefit 100 students enrolled in the Sounds of Young Philadelphia program (Photo 2).

The Delaware Valley Youth Athletic Association, 2840 S. 18th St., hosted a moooving experience Saturday, as Cow Chip Bingo endowed a grand prize of $10,000 (Photo 3).

Dogs ruled Saturday’s PAWS Mutt Strut at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park, Broad Street and Pattison Avenue. The event featured the titular walk, an adoption festival and an appearance by The Mummers (Photos 5 to 6).
