Friends of Dickinson Square Park hosted its second annual Halloween Party Oct. 31. Neighborhood children dressed up to see the mad scientist — played by Jane Winkel — and her haunted laboratory in the Parsons Building, Fourth and Tasker streets (Photos 1 and 2).

Peanut & Pals, 330 Oregon Ave., kept up the Halloween spirit as teachers, parents and students dressed up in costume to celebrate the spooky season Monday (Photo 3).

The East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District distributed prizes for funniest, scariest and most original costume at its Spooky Saturday Costume Contest Oct. 22 at the Singing Fountain, East Passyunk Avenue and Tasker Street (Photos 4 and 5).

Friends of the South Philadelphia Library sponsored an event at the South Philadelphia Branch, 1700 S. Broad St., where children and adults decorated pumpkins Oct. 22 (Photos 6 and 7). SPR
