Staff Writer Joseph Myers accepted the Philadelphia Area Tennis District 2011 Media of the Year Award in Lafayette Hill Sunday (Photo 1).

Councilman Mark Squilla announced his 1st District Clean and Green initiative with fellow City officials by his side at Mifflin Square Park, 500 Wolf St., Jan. 25. He also plans to award the nonprofit with the most improved community cleanup in his coverage area an extra $1,000 in activity grant funding (Photo 2).

Keven Parker, left, owner of Ms. Tootsie’s Restaurant Bar Lounge, 1312 South St., competed 12 acts of kindness Monday. The Spread the Love team paid grocery bills at ShopRite, 29 Snyder Ave., for families in need, among other good deeds (Photo 3).

Busybee Homestore and Design Center, 734 South St., hosted a “Give the Gift of Life” leukemia swab event to allow people to register as a bone marrow donor Saturday (Photos 4 to 7).
