At “A Whole New World at Arthur,” the drama club at Chester A. Arthur School, 2000 Catharine St., provided a sneak preview of its May 18 “Aladdin” production by singing “Arabian Nights” at Monday’s fundraiser, which also featured numbers by Walnut Street Theatre talents (Photo 1).

Fans of Mario Lanza gathered at the Mario Lanza Institute and Museum, 712 Montrose St., to celebrate his birthday Sunday (Photo 2). Board member Joan Burns sliced the cake made for what would’ve been the tenor’s 91st birthday, which was Jan. 31 (Photo 3).

Passyunk Square and Dickinson Narrows civic associations established Passyunk Pruners Saturday. The group met at Gold Star Park, 613 Wharton St., and pruned more than a dozen street trees on Seventh Street between Washington Avenue and Reed Street (Photos 4 and 5). SPR
