Music, dancing and laughter were abound in copious amounts at the second annual Summer Jazz Series at the Concert Garden, 2056 Ellsworth St., Saturday. The event, which benefitted Point Breeze Pioneers’ greening efforts, featured the bands Opus Soul, Big Unkle and Mojoceratops. The 220 fans in attendance helped to raise $500 for the cause (Photos 1 through 3).

A myriad of smiling faces at McDonald’s, 120 W. Oregon Ave., awaited the Phillie Phanatic’s arrival Monday while snacking on the new frozen treat — the Phillies McFlurry. (Photo 4).

Four woman on the 2000 block of South Broad Street tried to piece together what had happened in the aftermath of Tuesday’s earthquake. The 5.8-magnitude natural disaster’s epicenter was in Virgina, but shock waves were felt all along the east coast (Photo 5). SPR
