The South Philly Review recently conducted a talent search to find four judges between the ages of 8 and 15. Their task, in 150 words or less, was to tell us: What they liked best about the Mummers Parade. Youngsters presented their cute, yet vivid descriptions of Philadelphia’s annual New Year’s Day tradition.
After reviewing all of the entries, the following four students have been named to the judges panel for the Fancy Brigade Finale Family Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center: Mia Iannacone, 10, of the 2700 block of South Cleveland Street; Jordyn DeMarco, 11, of the 300 block of Jackson Sreet; Kara Duffett of Voorhees, N.J.; and Mark McCafferty, of Voorhees, N.J.
The winning essays will appear in the Dec. 29 edition of the South Philly Review.
