The Pennsylvania Newspaper Association announced the Keystone Press Awards victors March 21 and endowed the South Philly Review with five honors.

Staff Writer Joseph Myers won first-place series distinction for “Consolidating Catholic Education,” consisting of “Short division” (Jan. 12, 2012), “On wings and prayers” (Jan. 19, ’12) and “Five for fighting” (Jan. 26, ’12); first-place sports event coverage for “Committee of 70” (March 1, ’12); and first-place headline writing for “Five for fighting,” “Patriot tact” (June 28, ’12) and “A stroke of pluck” (Dec. 20, ’12).

Staff Photographer Greg Bezanis claimed first-place photo story kudos for “Fralinger fights through fire” (Dec. 13, ’12) and honorable mention news photo accolades for “A great gait” (April 19, ’12). The association will honor all of the winners May 18 at the Harrisburg Hilton.
