An anonymous tip led to the arrest of a Grays Ferry wanted man Friday.
The tipster directed police to the 200 block of Rubicam Street in North Philly where authorities located Jhileel Burton, 18, who was residing at that location, on the second floor of the property at 12:40 a.m., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.
He was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of an instrument of crime; two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person; a count of attempted murder, and criminal mischief; and various firearm violations, according to court records.
Burton allegedly wounded a 28-year-old woman in her right shoulder, causing broken bones and nerve damage, as she drove away on the 1400 block of South 26th Street at 1:47 a.m. May 19 (“Tips needed,” Nov. 22), Tolliver said. Another passenger in the car was unscathed, but Burton allegedly struck an unoccupied auto with gunfire.
