A Whitman hoagie shop was held up after the supposed customer asked for some sweet treats.
A robber escaped the cold, and then escaped an eatery with a few hundred dollars.
The unknown man entered Subway, 330 W. Oregon Ave., Saturday with a scarf covering his face, said, “It’s cold outside” to a 27-year-old female employee and requested some cookies, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He then pulled out a gray handgun and said, “Give me the 10s and 20s.” She handed him $400, which he fled with westbound on Oregon.
The thief was described as white, in his 30s, 5-foot-8, 200 pounds and wearing a white and gray hoodie, dark jeans, black sneakers, a black scarf and latex gloves.
