Two men punched a woman and robbed her of $14 in Grays Ferry early Tuesday.
A 40-year-old woman was strolling along the 1400 block of South 30th Street when a man grabbed her purse, and then struck her in the face with a unknown object, which drew blood, and punched her in the face, which knocked her to the ground, Detective Danielle Tolliver said. The offender snagged $14 from her pocketbook, and he and his accomplice fled south on 30th.
A medic transported her to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition for a swollen eye and possibly broken nose, Tolliver said.
The main offender was described as black, age 25, 6-foot-1, 180 pounds and wearing a black leather coat while his accomplice was described as black, age 25, 5-foot-8 and wearing a gray hoodie.
