A teenager stabbed a man in an attempted Newbold/Point Breeze mugging Dec. 13.
The 37-year-old was on the 1700 block of Federal Street after leaving a friend’s home when an unknown girl holding a steak knife approached him and commanded cash, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man resisted and was stabbed once in the abdomen. The victim ran to 15th and Ellsworth streets where he flagged down police and lost the offender, who fled in an unknown direction.
Medics transported the victim in stable condition to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where he was treated and released.
The perpetrator was described as a black female with a medium complexion, age 16 to 18, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6, 160 pounds, having short, black hair and wearing a blue and green jacket.
