A woman was mugged at knifepoint in Lower Moyamensing on Christmas Day.
A 31-year-old woman was on the 2000 block of South Front Street en route to Target, 1 Mifflin St., at 3:50 p.m. when she was struck on the side of the head while strolling through the Interstate-95 underpass, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. She looked over to see a silver handgun in her face, and the man holding the weapon demanded her purse, containing gift cards and paperwork. She complied and the armed man, along with two others, who are believed to have struck the woman before the gunman mugged her, fled on bicycles in an unknown direction.
The gunman was described as white; in his early 20s; 5-foot-8; thin; having a thin, black beard under his chin; and wearing a gray hoodie. The male accomplice was described as white, in his early 20s, 5-foot-8, thin, having blond facial hair and wearing a light gray hoodie while the female accomplice was described as white, 5-foot-8, thin, having a brown ponytail and wearing a dark gray hoodie with a black hat.
