A man who posted his bail stemming from burglary charges was caught allegedly trying to break into another home Friday.
David Men, 23, of the 2300 block of South Darien Street, allegedly was standing on top of an air conditioner located in the rear of a 33-year-old woman’s home on the 2800 block of South Eighth Street, opened a second-story window and hoisted himself inside at 7 p.m. Friday, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.
When a man walking his dog spotted Men, who has nine other aliases listed in court records, from an alley, he asked a neighbor if the dwelling’s owner was home, Tolliver said. The neighbor observed Men jumping to the ground, and another neighbor tackled and held down Men until police arrived.
While Men did not take anything from the residence, he was arrested Nov. 12 for an Aug. 28 burglary on the 2400 block of South 12th Street, and posted a percentage of his $5,000 bail Nov. 13, according to court records.
For his most recent offense, he was charged with criminal conspiracy, burglary and criminal trespassing, and his bail was set Saturday at $50,000, which he had not posted by press time, according to court records.

“Maybe next time he breaks in somewhere he'll be met with the barrel of a gun!”
