Michelle Anne Noreski

Michelle Anne Noreski was among the 223 graduates awarded a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine during the college’s June 5 commencement at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Noreski, the daughter of Anne and Thomas Noreski of the 100 block of Snyder Avenue, will continue her medical training in family medicine at Aria Health in Langhorne and plans to pursue a fellowship in sports medicine.

Culinary expertise

Amariyah Mathis, of the 2200 block of Catharine Street, and Katrina Cicirello, of the 600 block of Wharton Street, placed third out of 16 teams from across the country that took part in the Job Corps Culinary Arts Expo in Cape May, N.J. June 14-18.

The Philly Job Corps, a federally-funded job-training and education program for ages 16 to 24 based at 2810 S. 20th St., made the final four after preparing a 10-serving healthy meal and creating a decorative centerpiece in three hours to present to the judges’ panel.

The 19-year-olds, along with two others on the team, were under the instruction of Chef Charles Lotka.
