To the Editor:
What a disgrace! We had to take our daughter to Methodist Hospital’s emergency room. I went in with her and my husband took the first parking space he could find. Five or six hours later, we came out exhausted and saw we had a $26 ticket for parking over the time limit. In an emergency situation who thinks about signs like that in a neighborhood near a hospital? We do not frequently visit these little streets, so who knew? And then to be slapped with a $2.50 fee to pay this undeserved ticket.
I have always been proud of South Philly and said I would never leave, but I’m getting fed up and if I could, I would leave, too.
Our government officials should be ashamed of themselves. This is ridiculous. I sure hope none of their children need to go to a hospital where they’ll have to find parking. Oh wait, they’ll get special treatment. They won’t have to worry.
