To the Editor:
Nearly 30 years ago, Mumia Abu-Jamal was found guilty of killing police officer Daniel Faulkner and sentenced to death. Once again, the case has reared its ugly head in the federal appellate court.
At crunch time, the federal judges decided to commute his sentence to life without parole. It was quite clear that their minds were made up well before the hearing ever started.
Would these same judges raced to indifference had the officer been their son or daughter? The victims, especially his wife Maureen, keep becoming victimized, whereas the perpetrator is rewarded.
The law, which was intended to protect the injured, now works in reverse thanks to clueless judges. What’s next, maybe a pardon or a faked illness so he’ll be released?

“sharp al....sounds like you're the racist. Your name pops up every time there is something involving a black man. Get over it. Black men committ more crime, therefore there's more of them in prison.
