While interpreters of Mayan writings felt Friday would mark either the end of the world or the beginning of a new era, these motorists engaged in business as usual at Weccacoe and Oregon avenues. Winter arrived at 6:12 a.m. that day, with Christmas Eve’s snowfall giving a taste of what the season might bring.
