“Litter. It’s ridiculous here and the streets are terrible. I sweep my street everyday. If everyone did that, we’d be alright, but the streets are filthy down here. Everyone says that and everyone knows it.”
Stephen Troini,
Broad and Ritner streets
“Something that should be improved on? The trash that is in the neighborhoods just be blowing around.”
Sterling Smith,
20th and Dickinson streets
“The sidewalks that everyone keeps falling on. People are tripping over them, even the sewer grates are out of place.”

“start with the liter! south philly is filthy. only maybe 50% of the people care what the streets and sidewalks look like or smell like. . now, since the 50% of us that actually care what our city looks and smells like, have been forced to tolerate the filth for many many years by the other 50 %, we now have to 'turn the tables'. now we force cleanliness upon them! how? volunteers, community service, INSTILL A LAW THAT RESTAURANTS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO DISTRIBUTE FLYERS TO RESIDENCES OR BUSINESSES. if they want to advertise, they are more than welcome to do it in the review. alot of the garbage on the streets is menus/flyers.. from 6am to 6pm. have people cleaning all over south philly. this amount of people presence will also deter some future crimes. in closing, it is time to put in what i would like to call operation 'clean response'! because that is what we need to do here. RESPOND! to the filth not sit back and take it..”
