“I think it’s wrong, dead wrong. Especially the trash tax — we have to pay to have our trash taken, it’s wrong.”

Salvatore Delcoll,
Juniper and Porter streets

“I don’t know why I would be persecuted for the fact that I like soda. This is America and I should be free to like what I like.”

Jon Lewis,
Broad and Moore streets

“I don’t like it, but what can I do — I’m a juice guy anyway. I could do an AriZona [beverages] every day, I guess.”

Kaylon Speller,
21st and Federal streets

“It’s good for your health, but I don’t know about your pocket.”

Daisy Barnes,
Seventh and McKean streets

“I think all they know how to do is tax and give handouts, then wonder why they don't have money. We need to tax bacon and chips next since people eat too much junk then have medicare pay for it. It savings start at the mouth.”

“I think Mayor Nutter should make those who owe back property taxes pay
up first. If not take the house. That's what would happen to the average
home owner. The mayor went down Broad St. trying to collect back business taxes which was a great idea. Make city officals get out and hit the streets!!

“Collect back property taxes and/or take properties. Increase property tax on the out-of-city property owners that contribute nothing to this city but make tons of cash off of their poor tenants. Get rid of municipal cars and just pay those city employees mileage. End the 10 year tax abatement that increased our population without paying for the services we need to maintain it. But most of all, STOP TAXING THE WORKING CLASS AND THE POOR.”

“Mayor appointed exempt employees should be taxed 10% for suggesting rerun ideas without thinking first. Oh Other cities do it! So what this is not other Cities..Killeredlphia...Filt-adedelphia ....loser ideas from a reform Mayor? Maybe Brady or Saidel would have been better choices.”
