What do you think of Foxwoods considering building a temporary casino on Columbus Boulevard?
Interviews by Ian Romano • Photographs by Sabrina Jacot.

"I don't like it, but there's nothing we can do about it. The big guys will be here to make money while the suckers will go there to lose it."

"I love it. I think it's a great way to bring in money."

The clock is ticking and the dollar signs keep mounting for Foxwoods Philadelphia, who can’t seem to catch a break in its high-stakes plan to bring slots to South Philly.

“I hate the idea of a casino down here. Traffic on Columbus Blvd is bad enough now. Put it some place else, put it down the old Navy Yard. Put it down the food center when they move to their new place, not in a residential area. People don't care if it's not in their neck of the woods, but we have to live down here and we do not want it. There is enough traffic going thru our neighborhood with the build up of Delaware Ave as it is, we do not need, nor want more.”
