The St. Richard, 1826 Pollock St., girls’ varsity basketball team defeated St. Monica, 43-22 Saturday to win its second-straight Catholic Youth Organization Region 6 championship at Ss. Neumann-Goretti, 1736 S. 10th St. The current class of eighth graders has compiled a 63-1 record over the last four years. The squad closed out region play with an undefeated mark for the second-straight year. St. Richard will represent South Philadelphia in this weekend’s Archdiocese Tournament.
