Frank “Roscoe” Natale won Public League Coach of the Year for guiding Edward Bok High School, 1901 S. Ninth St., to an undefeated regular season and a spot in the Class AA City Title Game. The All-Public Teams had a strong South Philly flavor. Junior lineman Dajuan Dandy from South Philadelphia High School, 2101 S. Broad St., joined Furness High School, 1900 S. Third St., senior running back Sharif Smith and senior wide receiver Dante Barkley on the AAAA All-Silver Division offensive unit. Southern senior linebacker Nate Robinson, Furness junior lineman Tyriek Gilliard and Furness senior running back Bor Bor Kessley made the defensive team.

Senior lineman Keith Jenkins from Prep Charter High School, 1928 Point Breeze Ave., landed on the AA offensive squad, as did Bok senior quarterback Marquise Brown and senior running back Shaquil Sammons, who won the division’s MVP honors. Bok senior lineman Marqui Alfriend earned a defensive selection, as did senior end Jihad Ward, junior end Vittorio Goggins, senior linebackers Omar Bashir and Robert Kralle and Prep Charter freshman Asa Manley.

Sharif Custis, a junior tight end from Ss. Neumann-Goretti High School, 1736 S. 10th St., picked up a First-Team Catholic League AA Division offensive selection, as did his brother, sophomore wide receiver Jamal Custis. Senior center Michael LaFauci and senior lineman Theodore Furia earned Second-Team status, as did junior wide receiver Eric Holt. Sharif Custis joined the First-Team All-Defense gang, with Furia, senior linebacker Benny Coppola and senior defensive back Shane Thomas appearing on the Second-Team.

His brain constitutes only three of his frame’s 223 pounds, but Robert Kralle wields his northward weight so well that he could probably call on the resolute organ to devise a plan for world peace. Being a local leader, though, appeals more to the senior linebacker, who in one year at East Passyunk Crossing’s Edward Bok High School, 1901 S. Ninth St., has become an exemplary figure through making tackles, acing tests and performing community service.
