North Philly native Jill Scott made the trip south to the Best Buy on Columbus Boulevard Tuesday night to greet fans, pose for pictures and sign copies of her latest album, “The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol. 3.” Hundreds descended on the electronics store hoping to meet the hometown girl whose collaboration with Philadelphia-bred music group The Roots resulted in a Grammy win for the rappers and fast-tracked Scott’s rise to stardom, which has included five albums, books of poetry and acting roles.
