Taking it to the street

Vibe_9-6.jpg
Strumming a 1960s Silverstone, Tyler Kinney, right, and friend Joe Maggiolo of Gift Shop set up an outdoor jam, adhering to the adage practice makes perfect. While belting out tunes on the corner of Broad and Porter streets Tuesday, the duo’s unofficial session gave them a chance to work on new material — and test it out on passersby — they hope to use in landing their first gig. With South Philadelphia as their studio, Kinney and Maggiolo found the right acoustics on a pitch-perfect day.
